Certified Professional in Supply Management® (CPSM®)
The Supply Chain Academy and the Institute for Supply ManagementTM have partnered to create a program that helps professionals
study for the Certified Professional in Supply Management® (CPSM®) certification.
The CPSM® program is specifically designed for experienced supply managers, focusing on managerial and leadership skills in areas such as finance, supplier relationship management,
organizational global strategy and risk compliance.
Industry and government recognize the program as the most respected designation of supply management competence. The CPSM® certification is the universally accepted standard for identifying
and recognizing supply management professionals. Challenge yourself and make the move to gain supply management's most prestigious designation.
The CPSM® certification is sponsored by the Institute for Supply ManagementTM (ISM). ISM is the first and largest
supply management association in the world. Its mission is to lead the supply management profession through its standards of excellence, research, promotional activities, and education. ISM's membership
includes more than 40,000 supply management professionals worldwide.
CPSM® Requirements
The criteria for earning the CPSM® qualification are:
- Three years of full-time, professional supply management experience—non clerical, non support.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or international equivalent.
- Pass all three Exams, including:
- Exam 1: Foundation of Supply Chain Management
- Exam 2: Effective Supply Management Performance
- Exam 3: Leadership in Supply Management
Current C.P.M.s
For individuals who already have the existing C.P.M. certification and are in good standing in having maintained their credentials, a Bridge exam for the CPSM® certification is available. The Bridge Exam will
be available to test through the end of 2014. The Supply Chain Academy offers online materials to prepare you for this Exam.
Benefits of the CPSM® Program
The CPSM® qualification will enable professionals to gain a clear understanding of their organization's supply operation and enable managers to take an active role in critical decisions. Each step in the
development of an organization's products and/or services is controlled by supply management. Current evolution of the profession dictates that a strategic level qualification is needed for professionals
to effectively implement innovative supply strategies throughout their entire organization. The CPSM® will be a milestone for those professionals who take ownership of their careers. Pursuing your
CPSM® qualification is your chance to leverage your knowledge and experience into career advancement.
And don’t forget, CPSM®s earn 13% more on average than those without the designation. (Source: ISM 2009 Salary Survey)
